We are so excited to welcome a very special guest — Josh Fitzgerald — to Discover Marijuana season 2! Josh is Pharmacist in Charge at Deseret Wellness’ Provo location. He’ll be joining Tim & Blake this season to give a fresh perspective on Medical Cannabis in the Utah space and beyond. Josh began his career working as a department store pharmacy tech before getting his degree from Midwestern University. He returned to that pharmacy after graduation in 2001, becoming the staff pharmacist. In this clip, Josh talks about how he was really turned off by the opioid crisis of the early 2000s, and that he wished there were some other way to alleviate pain without pushing pills.
What finally made him decide to investigate Medical Cannabis was an interaction with a young epilepsy patient. Josh acknowledged that he may be able to reduce her seizures with Medical Cannabis, and the rest is history. He applied to become a cannabis pharmacist in Utah and has been Pharmacist in Charge at Deseret Wellness ever since.
